The world’s only bridle with 12 anatomical properties

After extensive research into the anatomy of the horse’s head, PresTeq has developed the FaySport Bridle. This is the world’s only bridle with 12 anatomical properties, which create a bridle with optimal comfort for the horse. The bridle follows the contours of the horse’s head and evades important nerves, muscles, bones and joints. Without hindrance from the bridle, the horse will be able to optimally focus on his task and get the best connection possible with its rider. The bridle also has various additional functionalities to provide convenience and flexibility for the rider. Making it the perfect tool for the serious rider and busy schedule. The bridle is made of vegetable tanned leather, which is gentle on the skin, durable and eco-friendly. The bridle can be used for all disciplines.

The bridle is available in black and brown, both colours are available in size cob and full. Not supplied with reins

Short explanation 12 anatomical properties
1.The special shape of the crown piece relieves the nuchal ligament and nerve endings at the top of the The pressure is moved to two gel cushions on the sides of the neck.
2.The crown piece follows the shape of the ear base, allowing for optimal freedom of movement for the ears.
3.The PressTEQ attachment of the browband provides a smooth bottom surface and prevents pressure points.
4.The special shape of the crown piece avoids the TMJ joint, allowing optimal relaxation of the jaw.
5.The crown piece avoids the facial crest to prevent chafing.
6.By removing the unnecessary throat latch, the windpipe can no longer be obstructed or irritated.
7.The ElasTEQ system in the cheek pieces provides an elastic connection to the mouth and prevents too much pressure on top of the head.
8.The special shape of the noseband avoids the facial nerve opening in the skull.
9.The noseband does not put pressure on the molars and cheeks.
10.By using the provided elastic bit straps, pressure on the bars of the mouth will be reduced.
11.The noseband is placed high enough to avoid the tip of the nasal bone and also features gel padding.
12.The noseband is shaped to completely avoid the nostrils, allowing for optimal breathing.

PressTEQ browbands

The PressTEQ mounting system makes changing the browband very easy. You no longer have to take the entire bridle apart, but can simply click the browband on. This is possible even when the bridle is worn, which can come in useful when different outfits are worn. The bridle is provided with a plain leather browband in an elegant wave shape. Multiple designs of stylish and eye-catching browbands with Swarovski crystals are available separately.

Clip fastenings

The cheek pieces, noseband and flash strap feature a clip. This offers multiple advantages. When the noseband and flash are set to the right size, putting the bridle on becomes quicker than ever before. The cheek pieces are also available separately. Keeping multiple bits at hand with the cheek pieces attached, makes it incredibly easy and quick to change bits. This is even possible when the bridle is worn.

Lastly, because the cheek pieces feature a clip, the bridle can be put on in a different way which does not disturb the ears. This is especially useful for horses with sensitive ears or horses that are head shy.

How to put the FaySport bridle on the alternative way to avoid pressure on the ears and mouth:
1.Disconnect the left cheek piece
2.Place the bridle gently on the head, gently over the ears
3.Fasten the noseband
4.Place the bit in the mouth and connect the left cheek piece
5.Fasten the flash strap

Gel padding
The crown pieces features two large cushions with gel padding on either side of the poll. The noseband features a smaller cushion on top of the nasal bone. The addition of gel padding next to traditional rubber padding, provides increased pressure distribution which creates greater comfort for the horse. The crown piece and noseband feature gel padding for added comfort and pressure distribution.

Elastic bit straps
The elastic bit straps can be used if desired to slow down impact and reduce pressure on the mouth. The pressure will be distributed between the bit and noseband. This can be especially useful for young horses or horses with a restless or sensitive mouth.

Fitting the FaySport bridle

It is important to correctly fit the FaySport bridle, to optimally make use of its anatomical advantages. A badly fitted bridle may have negative effects. Always adjust the left and right side evenly.
1.The crown piece

The crown piece must lay on the middle of the neck. The shape of the crown piece should follow the shape of the ears and not press against them. If it is too wide or narrow, try a size smaller or larger.
2.The noseband

The noseband should be placed just above the tip of the nasal bone (coloured green). The best way is to feel with your fingers for the spot where the tip starts. Alternatively, you can place the noseband about two finger widths above the bit.

3.The noseband straps

Like any noseband, the noseband and flash strap should be fastened to allow room for two fingers to be placed under the noseband at the top of the nose.
4.The bit

The bit should be placed in the mouth as usual. When the cheek pieces are adjusted properly, the bit should lay in between the front teeth and molars. One or two wrinkles will be visible in the corner of the mouth.

Full explanation 12 anatomical properties

Point one: Nugal ligament and nerve ends

The nugal ligament is located in the middle of the neck behind the ears and supports the weight of the head. This is also the location of many nerve endings. The FaySport bridle features a recess in the padding to allow these ligaments to perform their function optimally. The pressure is moved to two gel cushions on the sides of the neck which also increase comfort.

Point two: Ear base

The crown piece follows the shape of the ears to allow optimal freedom of movement for the ears and prevents irritation, head shaking and head tilting caused by an uncomfortable crown piece.

Point three: PressTEQ browband system

Most bridles feature a browband with a loop around the cheek piece. This may cause pressure or friction on the jaw joint and the many nerves located here. The PressTEQ browband is clicked on top of the bridle, preventing a pressure spot. This also makes it incredibly easy to change the browband.

Point four: Jaw joint

Almost all bridles brush over the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), this is the joint where the lower jaw connects to the skull. Any movement the horse makes with its mouth, causes motion in this joint. This means most bridles cause friction when the horse chews, licks or relaxes its jaw. The FaySport bridle is specially shaped around this joint, to prevent friction. This encourages the horse to chew, lick and relax its jaw. A relaxed jaw is a requirement for the horse to be on the bit correctly.

Point five: Facial crest

The facial crest is the ridge on top of the cheek. Badly fitted bridles may cause chafing on this spot. The shape of the FaySport crown piece gives the facial crest plenty of space.

Point six: Windpipe

The shape and fit of the bridle make the throat latch obsolete. By removing it altogether, irritating or obstructing the windpipe is impossible.

Point seven: ElasTEQ cheek pieces

The rings to which the cheek pieces are connected feature an elastic insert. This creates an elastic connection which prevents excessive pressure on the connection between the mouth and crown piece. It can also contributes a still location of the bit in the mouth.

Point eight: Infraorbital foramen

The specially shaped noseband avoids the infraorbital foramen, this is an opening in the skull where many important facial nerves pass through the skull. High placed traditional nosebands are positioned right on the infraorbital foramen. Excessive pressure on spot (caused by a high and tight noseband) can cause numbness of the upper lip, nose, eyelids and jaw.

Point nine: Molars and cheeks

Traditional nosebands run over the nose vertically. This presses the skin of the jaw against the molars and may cause blistering on the inside of the jaw, especially when the noseband is fastened too tightly. The top of the FaySport bridle is shaped differently to prevent this.

Point ten: Bars of the mouth

The bit is always placed on the bars, a toothless piece of the jawbone which is covered by a thin, sensitive layer of skin. The FaySport bridle comes with elastic Velcro bit straps which help to protect the bars by dividing pressure between the bars and noseband. Pressure of the reins is also applied more evenly because the impact is slowed down by the elastic in the straps. This can be especially useful for young horses or horses with a restless or sensitive mouth.

Point eleven: Nasal bone

The tip of the nasal bone is a thin and fragile piece of bone. A low noseband may cause irritation or even fractures in this bone when excessive pressure is applied. The FaySport noseband is placed just above this sensitive bone. The top of the noseband is slightly wider than the sides and features gel padding for better pressure distribution and increased comfort.

Point twelve: Nostrils

The flash strap is attached on the sides of the noseband, which helps to keep the bit steady in the mouth. Traditional flash straps are attached on top of the nose and may put pressure on the nostrils if fitted badly or fastened too tightly, interfering with breathing. The lateral attachment of the FaySport flash straps stays clear of the nostrils to allow for optimal breathing.
